Symantec 10 not updating defs

I'm having an issue with some of my SEP clients not updating A/V definitions from the SEPM server.

They call all ping the SEPM server but for some reason, some workstations are not getting the latest virus def. On the smc-server-0.log, I noticed a bunch of errors: SEVERE: Error while extracting full content under c:\program files\symantec\symantec endpoint protection manager\tomcat\..\inetpub\content\xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx\xxxxxxxx\Full What else can I check to see what's causing the communication problems?

I believe the IPS updates are small with only 1 or 2 fixes and Norton may wait a few days to release them. Everytime, whenever updates are released, the updates have many fixes and detections added, only sometimes only engine updates are released. In this new machines the Definitions folder did not contain Virus Defs folder but after Live Update this folder was created and was empty. The Definition I mentioned in my previous post was 20170408.002 which happened at 13-4-2017 2035 IST The update happened now at 14-4-2017 0024 IST was although an old one 20170408.004 I also got 20170413.001.

As you can see they released 20170408.002 on 4-0408.004 on 4-10. what I am mentioning is happening even in a brand new machine with new Norton Security installation. I had raised this same problem about many month back when the SDSDefs system was started. See also https://community.norton.com/en/comment/7134391. IPSDefs come almost everyday except on Weekends and Holidays.

------------ 32-bit Vista Home Premium SP2 * Firefox ESR v52.0.2 * NIS v22.9.1.12 * MBAM Premium v2.2.1 Hello Has anyone noticed in Community Watch history that there is a liveupdate.which is a real Norton server, but it's reported as an offending url since it seems to be pointing to my It stops sometimes and that stoppage is tied to the changing of IPS drivers. I brought this up because of the connection to IPS and what Imacri stated.

was downgraded today from 16.1.0.253 to 16.0.0.1712; my IPS engine was also downgraded today from 8.0.0.514 to 8.0.0.512.

I had also the problem of Virus Defs folder (in the Definitions folder) months back, this is not solved till now.

I just ran a manual Live Update and IPS defintion set v20170417.001 (Security Update 1795) was just delivered to my system.I'm certain I checked the Virus Definitions & Security Updates twice this morning and confirmed that the latest Network-Based IPS definition set (not the File-Based SDS definition set) was listed as v20170417.001, so it must have been changed to v20170414.001 since then. The release history for the Virus Definitions & Security Updates still looks incorrect, since my Intrusion Prevention security history and C:\Program Files\Norton Internet Security\Norton Data.7.1.32\Definitions\IPSDefs both show that I was updated from IPS definition set v20170414.
